About AAM
AAM’s vision is to promote investments that lead to change in the agricultural industry, creating a positive and sustainable legacy
AAM is a specialist agriculture investor in large-scale, diversified food infrastructure and farmland assets essential to the global supply of high-quality food and fibre products. Through its existing, non-listed Managed Funds, it has over $753 million invested in beef cattle, sheep, cropping, poultry, and sustainably-sourced timber supply chains across 35 sites in five states and territories. AAM also operates the Regional Livestock Exchange, an extensive network of livestock marketing facilities.
The AAM Agri Access Fund builds on AAM’s culture of diversified investment, and ‘all-in’ approach to operational management, to create broad access to agriculture as an asset class that is suitable for mainstream diversified portfolios.

Why include agriculture in a diversified portfolio
Long-term Australian agriculture returns have far outpaced inflation, delivering an attractive risk adjusted return profile compared to major asset classes over 25 years. The sector also shows low correlation to shares and property.
However, not all farms are equal when it comes to performance, with the top 25% of farms significantly outperforming across all sectors. Key drivers of on-farm performance, all features of AAM Managed Funds, are:
Scale
Management skill and labour flexibility
Financial capacity
AAM commissioned Atchison Consulting to analyse investment in the sector and how including agriculture in diversified portfolios benefits overall risk adjusted returns.

Sustainability, innovation and community
We are committed to boosting investment inflows into the agricultural sector to support respectful succession, build more resilient rural communities and to bring young people back into the regions and back into farming. Invested capital is focused on sustainability as well as adoption of technology, animal welfare and ecological health.
AAM’s strategic sustainability program has three pillars - Planet, People and Prosperity - and is aligned to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

Case studies
From strategic fencing and water placements on pastoral properties to the installation of Australia’s largest solar battery on any commercially operating poultry farm, AAM’s active, on-the-ground management adds value to the investors as well as delivering long-term sustainable impacts to local communities and properties.
We have created a series of videos showcasing some of these projects and were also invited to appear on ABC’s Landline to discuss our battery innovation program.
